ABOUT

I am a graduate of Auburn University's CIDA accredited interior design program is currently ranked #8 in the country. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design as well as a Business minor and International minor. I could not be more proud to call Auburn my home away from home during my college career. I am originally from Mobile, Alabama, a place full of culture, that I am always delighted to return to.

Outside of school, I love to travel, trying new foods, seeing historical sites, and meeting new people. I am always on-the-go, looking for new experiences. I studied abroad for three months in Ariccia, Italy through the Joseph S. Bruno Auburn Abroad in Italy program. While in Italy, I participated in an interior design practicum with Tihany Design, a high-end hospitality firm in Rome. Traveling abroad was the best decision and opportunity I have experienced yet. Seeing the world through a different lens gave me more perspective than I ever could have anticipated and truly broadened my horizons.

I recently became a LEED Green Associate after passing the exam in April 2018 and plan to take the NCIDQ exam in 2020 to become a licensed Interior Designer. I am also a member of ASID, IIDA, and AIDC.

After graduating from Auburn, I moved to Atlanta to work for a high-end residential firm, Harrison Design. The firm who has specialized in luxury homes for 25 years decided to expand their work to include a commercial studio which would focus on senior living. I was offered a role to help start the interiors department of the studio alongside the architecture studio. It was a great experience and honor to work with some of the best architects and designers in the southeast and grow in knowledge of the working design world.

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

I believe in optimism. I find that it is important to be optimistic with any new task thrown my way. How I react to a situation can affect my entire day, as well as others I am around. Along with positivity, I also believe that everything happens for a reason, whether good or bad, and that we should take a step back, reflect, and look for the silver lining. I think, ”How can I use this moment to improve or grow?” I use this point of view in all aspects of my life, whether through work, relationships, or any conflicts I may come across. I find it is important to keep this perspective in order to maintain a happy, healthy mindset as we navigate our lives.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the power of design. I believe it has the power to heal, to energize, to make life more enjoyable, and to improve the quality of life for all people. Interior design affects people every day. This is why it has become such a passion of mine. I have a special affinity for biophilia. I believe nature is the best medicine and should always be included in design. I especially love when I can connect interiors and exteriors—blending the line with the outdoors.

I believe design should work effortlessly for the client and suit the needs of every day life. The spaces should feel warm and inviting. Design should make the clients feel more fulfilled within their spaces, not only aesthetically, but also functionally, letting them live a more vibrant life.

The role of the designer is that of a good, thoughtful host anticipating the needs of his guests.
